Spectroscopic investigation on the interaction of ICT probe 3-acetyl-4-oxo-6,7-dihydro-12H indolo-[2,3-a] quinolizine with serum albumins
Article Abstract:
Interaction of 3-acetyl-4-oxo-6,7-dihydro-12H indolo-[2,3-a] quinolizine (AODIQ), a biologically active molecule, with model transport protein, bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human serum albumin (HSA) is studied. The polarity dependent intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) process is responsible for the remarkable sensitivity of this biological fluorophore to the protein environments.

Photophysical study of 3-acetyl-4-oxo-6,7-dihydro-12-indolo[2,3-a]quinolizine in biomimetic reverse micellar nanocavities: A spectroscopic approach
Article Abstract:
Photphysical properties of 3-acetyl-4-oxo-6,7-dihydri-12H-indolo[2,3,-a]quinolizine (AODIQ), a bioactive molecule are investigated. AODIQ exhibits a sharp decrease in fluorescence anisotropy with increasing water/surfactant mole ratio, implying that the overall motional restriction experienced by the molecule is decreased with increased hydration.

Photophysics of a cationic biological photosensitizer in anionic micellar environments: combined effect of polarity and rigidity
Article Abstract:
The interactions of a biological photosensitizer, phenosafranin (PSF), with anionic micelles with varying surfactant chain lengths are demonstrated. The reaction processes are strongly influenced by both polarity and rigidity of the micellar environment.
